About the project
A RESTful API built with PHP and Laravel, designed to serve as the backend for web or mobile applications. It exposes secure, well-structured endpoints for data management.
The problem
Applications need a backend that handles authentication, authorization and data access without leaking security holes. The goal was a modular, maintainable API that follows established industry practices.
The solution
- Token-based authentication with Laravel Sanctum, protecting every restricted endpoint.
- External integrations through the Guzzle HTTP client.
- Proper CORS configuration so any frontend can consume the API safely.
- A tested foundation with PHPUnit and FakerPHP for generating test data.
Architecture and stack
The core is Laravel, chosen for its expressive syntax and first-class API tooling. Sanctum provides lightweight token authentication and Composer manages the PHP dependencies.
The project ships with PHPUnit for unit tests and FakerPHP for fixtures, plus Laravel Mix for compiling any frontend assets the API needs.
Code and ownership
The source code is public and released under the MIT license; this project is part of the portfolio and can be inspected and run locally.
